The By Wirth Beech Table Frame is a classic trivet that can unfold and be used for both small and large pots and dishes. When not carrying hot dishes, you can use it for oils, small bowls, etc.
To achieve the colour on the trekker trivets, the raw oak material is soaked in a bath of vinegar with a steel sponge. The combination triggers a chemical reaction that turns the oak blue, then black when oiled or smoked to reveal an earthy tone. This process can only be done with Scandinavian oak, and the result is a 100% natural product with elegant, visible growth rings that will age gracefully.
